Bio
Sid has more than 5 years of experience in scientific research using mathematical and computational algorithms. He has a broad background in industrial engineering and business. He started off his engineering journey in 2008 by supervising lower-tension domestic electrical construction work and managing a fabrication unit for high-tension overhead electrical construction. He wrote his bachelor's and master's in mechanical engineering in India from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras, with an honours in thermal sciences and a minor in field robotics. Apart from leading Compute Avenue, he is currently a researcher at the University of British Columbia in the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, and the Institute of Applied Mathematics. His major areas of focus are in computing-based solutions, specifically business analysis, scientific machine learning, optimisation, numerical modelling, inverse problems, and mechanics.
